Tango Elixir Presents:
Argentine Tango Workshops
with Kara Wenham

September 9 – 10, 2006 in Milwaukee, WI

Kara's exploration of Argentine tango has led to her profound understanding not only of the dance's structure, but also of the distinct masculine and feminine roles, its musical and improvisational qualities and the fundamental element of the connection between partners as expressed in their embrace. Kara's dance style, Salon Tango Moderno, incorporates new technical concepts with the traditional grounded close embrace. As an accomplished leader as well as follower, Kara is able to clearly identify and communicate ways for individual students to quickly and effectively improve their dancing. In Buenos Aires, Kara dances in tango houses and various milongas; she regularly teaches at Tango Brujo. Kara recently taught and performed Argentine tango across Europe (London, Copenhagen and Amsterdam) and in Hong Kong and Los Angeles.   Don't miss out on this great opportunity to expand your tango horizons!
(Nina will be following up with the material presented by Kara in the coming tango session.)

Bastille Days was a huge success!
A Special GRACIAS to:

Pam Tatarowicz for suggesting our group to the Bastille Days' organization.
She got the ball rolling!

Susanah for hosting the company dancers and musician over the weekend:  Her hospitality was much appreciated!

Jill Whitmore and Pam Tatarowicz for donating bedding.

John Ertl and Paddy Finnerman of the Bastille Days' Staff.

All the support from Milwaukee and Chicago tangueros who came out to see us!

We received exceptional reviews and compliments from the Bastille Days' organization as well as from festival goers.  We hope to make this an annual performance venue in order to excite the city about Argentine Tango.  We were informed that our stage attracted more audience than any other stage during the same time slots in the festival.  And we had numerous repeat observers.  Bravo!!!
